Configuring Nimble Replication

In this exercise, you will configure the steps necessary to enable replication between two arrays.

1. Navigate to the Manage >> Data Protection menu item.

2. Click Replication Partners.

3. Add a new on-premises Replication Partner with the following details.

• Partner Name: NIMGRP2
• Hostname/IP: 192.168.1.28
• Shared secret: Password01!
• Confirm shared secret: Password01!
• Select Use management or controller IPs for replication traffic radio button
• Use the drop down menu and set the Inbound Location to the default
• We don’t need a QoS policy in this lab environment, but note the settings which might be configured. How might this feature be useful in a production environment?

4. Repeat the steps above on the second array, this time connecting to the first array:

• Partner Name: nimble-01
• Hostname / IP: 192.168.1.22
• Shared secret: Password01!
• Confirm shared secret: Password01!
• Select Use management or controller IPs for replication traffic radio button
• Use the drop down menu and set the Inbound Location to the default

5. When you have completed the configuration, click on the Test button. The status should change to Alive.

6. Note that it is by using the same wizard that you would configure replication to an HPE Cloud Volume.
